２０２５年３月よりワールドワイド（ニューヨーク、上海、ドイツ、台湾、トロント、シドニーを）な個展を予定する今注目の大阪の陶芸家八田亨初の作品集。

以下は八田亨による本書の紹介文です。
『この度、僕の作品集『HATTA TORU 八田亨の仕事』が建築・アートの専門出版社ADPより刊行されます。

写真は西部裕介さん、デザイナーは柚山哲平さんです。

西部氏の写真は、その瞬間が目の前に現れるようなリアルさが魅力です。柚山氏のデザインは、作品の温もりや質感、そしてその背後にあるストーリーまでを巧みに表現しています。ページをめくるたびに、作品を手に取ってみたくなるような感覚を楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。

また、本書には約3000文字のテキストも収められています。作品を生み出す過程や、陶芸に対する思い、そしてそれらを形にするために必要な時間と情熱について僕自身が綴りました。
ぜひお読みいただければ幸いです。

毎月焚いている薪窯、個展開催に追われる時間の中で、昨年一年は、この本作りにエネルギーを注ぎ、熱中しました。熱量のある本に仕上がったと思います。

本作りを通じて、自分自身の仕事を客観的に見つめ直すきっかけになり、人生も半ばを迎えた今、また良い焼物を焼いて人の役に立ちたい、と心から思っています。

本書は2025年3月12日刊行予定です。僕の作品が、皆さんの暮らしに少しでも彩りを添え、心へ届けられたら嬉しいです。

I am pleased to announce the publication of my monograph, “HATTA TORU Ceramics”, by ADP, a publishing house specializing in architecture and art.

The photography is by Yusuke Nishibe, and the book design is by Teppei Yuyama. Nishibe’s photographs capture astonishing realism, as if each moment were unfolding before your eyes. Yuyama’s design further enhances this by conveying the warmth, texture, and the underlying stories of my work. I hope that as you turn each page, you will be inspired to touch, hold, and use the pieces.

In addition, the book contains approximately 3,000 words of text in which I share my thoughts on the creative process, my philosophy on pottery, and the time and dedication required to bring each piece to life. I would be delighted if you took the time to read and enjoy my essays.

Amid the monthly firings of my wood-fired kiln and the demands of solo exhibitions, I have devoted my energy and passion over the past year to the making of this book. I believe it has turned into a work filled with that very passion.

This process has also allowed me to reflect on my work from an objective perspective. Now that I am in the middle of my life, I feel an even stronger desire to create meaningful pottery that enriches people’s lives.
The book is scheduled for release on March 12, 2025. If my work can add a touch of color to your daily life and resonate with you in any way, nothing would make me happier.』
